Hyperplasticizers for Asia’s highest bridge
Reaching more than 200 meters above ground, Asia’s highest bridge is currently under construction in the mountains of central China. When finished, it will connect the cities of Yichang and Chongqing. For this project an extremely durable and robust concrete that is easy to process is required. The construction site is located in difficult terrain in a scarcely populated area.

The admixture also facilitates high flowability and low pump resistance and allows for fine dosage control. This makes it easy to compensate fluctuations in the quality of the cement or aggregates. Our experts provide direct on-site service to the project management during the entire construction process. In order to ensure a consistent concrete quality, the BASF team and the customer’s engineers continually adjust the Rheoplus dosage according to the environmental temperature. During the summer, for example, concrete cures faster and is harder to pump. |
